Welcome to our Blog

We're glad you checked into our Blog. Our team is very excited about our trip and we hope you continue to follow our blog and share your thoughts and encouragement with us. Meet our team:
Joe (leader), Mary (boss), Bill, Kathy, John, Bill, Denise, Fern, Heather, Julia, Lisa, Rob, Carol, Tom
We will be working right outside of Port-au-Prince. The school at Rue-Frere in Petionville. This school is operated by Pastor Sannon and his wife. The couple does not have the financial resources to operate the school - never mind the resources required to repair the damage left by the earthquake and subsequent termite infestation. This faithful couple is struggling to make ends meet and is unwilling to turn children away.

There is vast unmet need in Haiti. Hunger, disease, and political unrest continue to be the norm. We hope to bring just a small amount of relief, hope, and love into the lives of those we meet.

A word from Rachel & Tom Pitot - Our hosts from Partners With Haiti

Hello All:

Our trip is rapidly approaching and we are in the midst of final preparations.  We are gathering supplies - tools for the building project, and most importantly plenty of school supplies for the students at Rue-Frere.  Please keep us in your prayers as we make final preparations - and  lift up the people of Haiti.

As I mentioned, we are going to Haiti through an organization called Partners With Haiti and Rachel and Tom Pitot are our hosts.  Rachel and Tom have been working with Haiti for many years and have made countless trips there.  We met them the first time a few months ago during our initial planning meetings.  They are an amazing couple and we look forward to our trip with them.

The note below is from Rachel.

"Tom & I are really excited about the upcoming trip that Community Chapel will be taking in a few short weeks, to help rebuild a school that has been damaged by past hurricanes and then by the earthquake last January. Haiti is a country that has been devastated over and over by natural disasters; despite all our Haitian brothers and sisters go through, they are an extremely resilient people! Pastor and Mme Sannon have been patiently waiting and praying for over 5 years, for someone to come along and provide assistance to their school that sits behind the Church of the Nazarene at Rue Frere. Community Chapel is certainly an answer to the Sannon's prayers!
We have been working in Haiti for nearly a decade and lead work and witness teams throughout the year. I currently run a child-sponsorship program and Tom helps with the program's accounting department. We have watched the lives of children/young adults change thanks to an education, a solid Biblical foundation and from generous people who visit Haiti and get involved!! I would ask those who are not physically travelling on the team to keep those of us who are going to Haiti in your prayers as we prepare to leave our families, as we are in-country, and also as we come home and go back to our daily lives."
